EPCs

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is similar to the certification found on many domestic appliances.  They are used to demonstrate the energy rating of a building. For residential properties the EPC rating is a guide to the cost of energy required to run a building on a scale of band A (lowest cost) to band G (highest cost).  There is a supplementary rating in the EPC detail for the building’s carbon emissions. Although EPCs for non-domestic properties follow the same band A to band G rating as residential buildings, these bands relate to emissions of CO2 associated with energy use, with band A being lowest emissions and band G being highest emissions. An additional asset rating is also introduced in the commercial EPC, a rating of A+ which represents buildings which have achieved net zero emissions. EPCs are required by the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012, and they are accompanied by advice on how to improve the building’s performance. We have a dedicated team of fully qualified assessors and we provide technical advice over the phone and a written quote within a few hours.  ERS have many years of experience in the application of both commercial and residential EPCs. We will need some information from you to assist with the calculations.  Please call us on 01865 378885, or via the Contact Us form, and we’ll be more than happy to talk you through the best approach for your EPC requirements.
